So I downloaded the first track released off of Trvium's new album. And i got to say it's pretty good....for the most part.

First of all, it starts off pretty fucking heavy. With a very death metal like riff (minus the blast beats). The guitars are great as always..although i was kind of disapointed with the solo. But whatever it's no big deal. Riffs are improved over the first album. They're no longer rehashed as much and reused as much. Production is good on everything, but i believe that the copy i got (even though it was sent to me through Roadrunner) was kinda shitty...there is an excess of bass.

Drums are also good. Some minimal blast beats at one point...the usual fast double bass patterns.

Vocals. They were both good and bad. During the first half of the song Matt Heafy tries to impersonate James Hetfield so much. I don't know it just doesn't cut it for me. He should just do his own thing instead of trying so hard to be "thrash metal".
His vocals get better during the second half after the interlude. Heafy should just stick to doing clean vocals cause apparently thats what he's good at.

EDIT: Alrite i take it back. It's a great song. Especially after the half time mark. It becomes fucking awesome and melodic and very..er...Trivium-ish. I just wish he wouldnt do the gay Metallica vocals.

I also paid attention to the Bass prodution, and it's great. Very audible. Paolo plays some great riffs and shredding on bass which is very cool.

War Of the Worlds was awesome. Saw it yesternight.
Going to this resort tomorrow with Moe. Staying there for the whole day. Lots of skating, swimming, sweating, sunshine and snacks.
Got Nin: With Teeth yesterday too (finally).
Offspring's dvd is awesome!. Seriously, Dexter and Noodles are fucking cool. I recommend it just for the dvd side (since it also has the audio side.)
My iPod is officialy scrambled. I think the reason was cause it was near my amplifier most of the time. And so the magnet screwed up the hard-drive. Oh well. Mom said i can get a new one. So i'm going to get the iPod-Color 60gig. Problem is it's 85kd overpriced here in Kuwait; and Amazon doesn't ship that product to Kuwait. I'm going to need some help ordering it....Pat? =]
Oh yea, and Pat's coming like on Saturday; so yippee.

I just found out that Finch's new album (Say Hello To Sunshine)has been out for like a week! I wonder how i missed this.
Anyways; i'm ordering some shit off of Amazon right now.

Fuck. I can't wait to hear this stuff. Finch's new cd is going to rock for sure. Incubus, i'll now have all their DVDs. I just found out now that Audiovent had broken up a long time ago. Which sucks cause their only cd kicks ass (I listened to a few songs). In Flames, this is their first album and first EP put together in one purchase. Plus like 3 unreleased tracks. Excellent. I want to pre-order Arch Enemy's new album (Doomsday Machine). But like it's not going to be out till the end of July, so fuck it.

Anyways, im going to be refreshing my "Track Order" page for the next few days. Later.

Mesmerize/Hypnotize

After recording two new albums in 2004 -- Mesmerize, due this spring, and Hypnotize, due this fall -- System of a Down plan to spend the next couple years on the road. Their first stop is Aukland on January 21st, where they will kick off a six-day stint at New Zealand and Australia's annual traveling festival, Big Day Out.
"We're going out and doing as many shows as we can," says guitarist Daron Malakian, reclining on a couch in the Southern California studio where the band is mixing the records with Andy Wallace (Rick Rubin produced the sessions). "It'll be constant touring for two years," he explains. "Right now, I'm most excited about being with the band onstage, and being behind a guitar."

Touring will actually be something of a vacation for Malakian, whose schedule is even more insane at home than on the road. "I put a lot of pressure on myself, and I'm always focused on the next song I'm gonna write," says the guitarist, who estimates he's penned an additional thirty songs since the Hypnotize/Mesmerize material. "I lock myself into my house for months at a time and don't see my parents and don't see anybody except my friend, who brings me food."

Though Malakian prefers to look ahead, he can still appreciate his recent creations. Two of his favorites are "Lost in Hollywood," which he calls "one of the best songs I've ever written"; and "Cigaro," which opens with a ferocious punk riff as vocalist Serj Tankian sings, "My cock is bigger than yours." Other standout tracks include Hypnotize's Indian-seasoned title track and the brutal speed-metal blast "Kill Rock & Roll."

Most of all, Malakian can't wait to play the new songs for an audience. "I think we're good live, but I want to build on it," he says. "I want the music to be dynamic."

I took my journalism and my graphics design exams yesterday which were both easy. So far so good.

Monday: Human Biology and Computer Science (Java Prog)

All of these are going to be somewhat difficult...=|
But there are rumors that we aren't going to have final exams, if that's the case then next week should be my last week were im going to put effort in. So anyways if im online any less next week you know why.

My sister is coming today after school, so i should have my camera back which means more pictures =].
I go do nothing in journalism now so later.

I feel like taking random pictures of stuff, but i won't, so whatever. I am getting my camera back from my sister on the 10th anyways. Speaking of the 10th, school starts on the 8th. I can't stand school, i just want to fucking get it over with. Seriously it's pissing me off. Whatever, this is so pointless. Don't go saying Omg lolzers! but Ozy! skool is like totaly fun! lol you get to meet people and learn and things! lol Um no, not really whatever. I got an awesome Christmas present yesterday. Thank you, you know who you are. =]

I also got the Antics which irs real cool. I went to some Christmas party with my parents today. It was really boring, lots of dancing and smoke, but the food and wine was great. My guitar cable is screwed, me and my shitty luck with these cables is beyond belief. Im getting GTA and a new cable tomorrow hopefully, then im going to try to hang out with Pat and Raz. I spent the night at Ramsey's place last night for the first time. It turns out we're related in some way...*shrugs*

I don't think in a single day, i've laughed more than i did last night. And it wasn't even a full day. We laughed so fucking much, at everything! Team America is hilarious! Even though it's offensive in every way possible. And yea, we basically played Halo2 for like 5hours straight while listening to metal ( mostly In Flames ). And yea it rocked,Ramsey, we gotta do this again with Pat.
